16 Weeks

I am now 16 weeks pregnant and my belly seems to be getting bigger to me. I bought my first maternity clothes last weekend. I had a doctor's appointment today and got to hear the heartbeat which is just as cool this time around as it was the first time with Alexandra. At my next appointment on September 5 we will find out the sex of the baby! We can't wait to see if Alexandra will be getting a little sister or brother! Right now every time we ask her if she wants a brother she says no. Then we ask her if she wants a sister and she says no to that too! Clearly she'd like things to stay how they are, with her as the only princess!

We are leaving tomorrow for Greece and will be gone for two weeks. We are super excited for the vacation and to see Nick's sister Chris and her family. We know Alexandra is going to have so much fun with her cousins Ioanna and George.

Back From Wisconsin

Yesterday our time in Wisconsin came to an end and we returned home to Nick. We had a great time up in Wisconsin taking Alex and Jaelynn to the pool, park and zoo. They had more fun together than I ever expected. I thought they would still kind of ignore each other and just play on their own. Instead they played together, hugged, held hands, even kissed. They really had fun together. And we had so much fun watching and laughing at them. It was very sad to leave but Nick was very excited to see Alexandra and she was just as happy to see him. Now we are back to the old routine for a week and a half before we make the trip to Greece to visit Nick's sister and her kids.

I am still doing good, pregnancy wise. The tiredness has pretty much disappeared so now the only thing reminding me that I am pregnant is my growing belly! I'll post a new picture of myself soon. Enjoy the new pictures and videos of Alex with her cousin, Jaelynn.

12 Weeks

Today I had my 12 week appointment! I was all excited to go because I was going to get to hear the heartbeat. Well, the little stinker just did not want to cooperate. He/she was hiding so much that we could only see it, not hear it. Hopefully, next time they will come out of hiding. We can't wait to find out the sex of the baby. We will find out in mid-September. I kind of feel like we are going to have another girl. Nick thinks that we are going to have a boy because we can't agree on a name. We'll see whose right.............

Alexandra and I are leaving on Friday to go up to Wisconsin to visit Grandma and Grandpa, all the Aunts and Uncles, and Jaelynn for 10 days. I am very excited for the trip. When we get back from Wisconsin about a week and a half later we are going to Greece for 2 weeks to visit Nick's sister. It will be Alexandra's first international travel. We know she will have a blast when we are there; we just hope she adjusts to the time change okay.

"No" and a New House

I think I can officially add the word "No" to Alex's vocabulary. Luckily she hasn't used it directly at me yet! Hopefully, I have a little while before that starts to happen!:):):) At lunch today I walked away from the table to get her some more food and she threw her spoon down on the floor, pointed to it and said "No" three times to it. She proceeded to the same thing at dinner with honeydew when I walked away from the table. (Note that I say no to her when she throws things on the floor when she's eating.) It was very amusing.

On a very different topic for those of you that don't know we are building a house. It should be completed in November or December. I cannot wait for it to be done. Our two bedroom townhome becomes more and more crowded everyday with Alex's things. I drove by it today and the cement block for the first floor is up! I was very excited. I had to drive by it twice to fully believe that was my house being built.

Since we live so far away from most of our family and close friends I thought I would start a blog to share pictures, videos, stories and updates on Alex and baby no. 2. I believe most of you know by now that we are expecting another baby. We are so excited! I am 8 weeks along and due Feb. 2. I had my first ultrasound on Monday. It was still just as amazing to see this little guy or girl in there as it was the first time with Alex. My mom was in town visiting us so she was able to come along and see. It was a really special moment to share with her. She left yesterday and as usual I was very sad to see her go. Other than being tired, I am feeling great so far again with this baby. Alex is doing great. She is in full toddler mode, running, starting to talk, becoming her own person....I can't believe in 7 months I am going to have 2 munchkins!!
