34 Weeks

Here I am at 34 weeks! I can't believe I only have 6 weeks left to go. I had a doctor's appointment today and got to have an ultrasound and see the little guy. He looks great and is growing like he should, as am I.

We are officially living in our new house now and loving it! We still have a bit of unpacking to do but it already feels like home. Once we finish unpacking I will take some pictures of the new house and post them for everyone to see. Alexandra loves her new room and transitioned into a regular bed with no problems. I haven't had any middle of the night visits and right now she stays in her bed until we get her after a nap or in the morning. (I'm sure this will change eventually.)

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! We will spending ours here in Tampa with Nick's family.

Great news! We are finally moving into our new house next week! Yeah! We are so excited and so happy this process is done and we can just move in and enjoy the extra space. We close on Tuesday morning and the movers are moving our stuff in on Wednesday morning. Once we have a chance to get furniture put together we are going to put Alexandra in a bed! I can't believe it. I am really excited to start "tucking" her in at night. Hopefully the transition from crib to bed goes smoothly and I don't have too many middle of the night visits from her.

Alexandra is doing great. She was really sick with strep throat for about a week. I didn't know that they could get that this young but obviously they can. She is all better now and back to her old self. She is saying more and more words every week and they are becoming clearer and easier for someone other than me or her Dad to understand. We have started potty training again. I took a long break from it because she had no interest in sitting on it. She is back to wanting to sit on it all the time. She doesn't go to the bathroom but she likes to wipe herself with some toilet paper and flush it down the toilet.

I am still feeling great. I have my next doctors appointment on Thursday. I am having one more ultrasound. I can't wait.

My brother Tim and his wife Gina are due to have their baby boy any day now. We can't wait for him to make his arrival!

I am sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything. It has been a very busy few weeks. We moved out of our townhouse so we are finally rid of it, yeah! We haven't moved into our new house yet, hopefully next week. We spent all last week in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. It was great being home with everyone and Alexandra had a blast running around with her cousin Jaelynn.

I am now 31 weeks along. I can hardly believe that I have only about two months until this little guy makes his debut. Time flies. I am still feeling great so that is good. Hopefully it stays this way til he decides to make his entrance......

Fun & Funny Facts About Alexandra

Since most of you don't get to see Alexandra very often I thought it would be fun to share some tidbits on what she likes and dislikes.

LIKES
Favorite Thing to Do: Read, Read, Read. (She is a major bookworm, just like her mommy.)
Favorite Food: Strawberries (In one sitting she has eaten as many as 18 strawberries!)
Favorite Animal: Dogs
Favorite word to say right now: Book (We were surprised she didn't say this word sooner.)
What she can't live without: Her blankie.
What we think she might be when she grows up: A veterinarian, a housekeeper or a librarian. (Between her love for dogs, her need to be clean and to help me with all cleaning, and her love for books its a toss up!)

DISLIKES
Biggest Pet Peeve: Being dirty (I never knew that at this age they could already have a pet peeve.)
Least Favorite Food: Any green vegetable (She refuses to eat. Somehow they know when something is a vegetable. If I put a desert she has never seen before in her life she will always dig right into it. Anything green, no way! She is just like her Dad!)

Halloween

Halloween was so much fun this year with Alexandra. I didn't do anything with her last year because she was only 9 months old. This year she dressed up and went trick-or-treating. And oh she looked just sooooo cute. We dressed her up as a dog since she loves them so much. I had only planned on taking her trick-or-treating to her Grandparents house and then maybe 3 or 4 other houses but she was loving it so much we were out there for almost 40 minutes. Every time we would go up to a house and get some candy they would shut the door and she would turn and tell me, "more, more!" Its her latest word she has learned; what perfect timing! She didn't quite understand why she couldn't eat every single piece of candy when it was given to her.

People always told me to really cherish the first few years of my kid(s) life because they grow up so fast. They couldn't have been more right. Watching her walk from house to house trick-or-treating, I couldn't believe how big she seemed. She is quickly becoming my little girl and not my little baby.

My Little Helper

Alex and I are back after a week in Arizona visiting her Great Grandma and Aunt Carol. We had a great time. We went to the pool, park and zoo while we were there. My Grandma has a statue of a dog in her family room that Alex of course just loved. I think he got more kisses than my Grandma or Aunt did! (See the picture at the top of the blog, he also got lots of hugs!) Alex was quite the little helper with my Grandma. After a day or so of seeing me do things for my Grandma Alex wanted to do everything for her, get her mail, her sweater when she was cold, her lunch and breakfast. She wanted to do everything herself for her but I had to insist on helping with lunch or breakfast. I can only imagine what would happen in the kitchen if I tried to let her pour a bowl of cereal! Alex learned some good manners from my Grandma. After a night or two of being there she noticed that my Grandma put a napkin on her lap every night at dinner so she had to have one on her lap every night after that! My Grandma also still prays every night before dinner which I think is wonderful. Unfortunately we don't do it at home. So every evening when we would pray Alex would look at us like we were weirdos.

I am doing good, belly is growing every day as it should be. I am 26 weeks along. I can't believe how fast it is going by. He is starting to move around a ton now which I just love. We have decided on a name for this little guy, Johnny Marco Lazaridis. He is already Johnnycakes to me!

Alex in her super cute Halloween pjs

My big girl trying to brush her teeth (which right now consists of just sucking the water off the toothbrush)

Me at 24 weeks

Alex had a big milestone this week. She peed in her toilet for the first time! I could not believe it, I was screaming with excitement. It only happened that one time this week and probably won't happen for another two weeks but it was still very exciting. She looked so big sitting on her toilet going to the bathroom.

Some other big news is that we finally sold our townhouse! Yeah! It has been two years we have been trying to sell the place. We still cannot believe that we are finally getting rid of it. We are supposed to move into our new house sometime mid-November. Can't wait!
