Love and a Diaper

Johnny is loving his big sis.  I think she makes him smile more than anyone and she doesn't even try.  Now that he is starting to see better he loves to watch her.  It is really cute to watch. He looks at her like, wow, you are really cool.  Alexandra is loving him now too. She can't say his name so she calls him Baby or Jah.  She is very concerned about what he is doing.  The first thing she asks me in the morning when I get her out of bed is "Baby, Sleep?"  Translated she is asking me if he is still sleeping. She loves to give him his pacifier right now.  Although I try to tell her he only wants it if he is crying or tired but she just doesn't understand. So I have been catching her lately trying to shove it in his mouth saying, "Take, Take".  All the while he has a big grin on his face, clearly not interested in it.

So yesterday when Alexandra woke up I saw that she only had 4 diapers left. I thought ok, we're alright, we should be able to make it through nap time. I knew that UPS would come during her nap and the diapers I had ordered were scheduled to be delivered.  So I changed her diaper and we had three left. In the course of the morning she poops twice.  Two more gone. I thought we have one left I can put on her at nap time, we should be good. What does she do two minutes before her nap, poop!  Well, I don't want to run out for one diaper when I know hers will be here shortly.  So what do I do, I found a size 2 diaper in Johnny's closet and somehow got it to fit on her. (For those of you currently with a little one you know how small these are.)  It barely covered her. I'm pretty sure her crack was showing.  And the tape just got around her hips to stick to the front of the diaper.  I just prayed she didn't pee too much while she slept and she didn't move around too much to tear the tape off the diaper.  Luckily neither happened!

Another Giant on Our Hands

It looks like we have another giant baby on our hands! Johnny went to his two month appointment and in two months he has already grown 3.5 inches bringing him now to 25 inches! He is off the charts in height as his sister was and still is. He weighs almost 13lbs putting him in the 75th percentile. Nick hopes they keep their record height as they grow older so that Alexandra can become a supermodel and Johnny can be a professional basketball player and support us so we can retire early!:):):)

On another note I saw a glimpse into Johnny's future yesterday. I was sitting in the family room while Alex was playing. She asks me for her water. I told her it was on the coffee table (only 5 feet away from her). Trying to see how much she can boss me around she told me to get it. I informed her to get it herself. She tried to ask again and I still said no. Then she says "Big Baby". Translated that means "When the Baby is Big". I said what is the baby (Johnny) going to do when he gets big. She responded with "My Water". I said "When the baby gets big he is going to get your water?" She quickly answered yes! Oh, poor Johnny. He has no idea what is coming to him!

I am sorry that I have been slacking on keeping my blog up to date. Two kids keeps you busy!!

Johnny is doing good. He will be two months this weekend. I can hardly believe it. I take him for his two month appointment on Monday. I can't wait to see how much he has grown. He continues to be a happy baby although he has decided that sleeping during the day is not fun and he would rather be up with his sister!!

Alexandra is doing good as well. Busy playing mommy to her dolls. She is talking more and more everyday. She is now trying to make sentences. They are not proper sentences and often the words are not in the right order. For example, one I hear quite often is "All Done Feed Baby, Mama Hold". Translated that means "When Mama is all done feeding the baby, she'll hold me."

I am going to upload some videos over the weekend and a new album of photos so check back the beginning of next week. I'll post again soon.

The Kemp Family Visits!

Alex's cousin JJ visited last weekend with my sister and Mason. She loved her cousin and wanted to hold her hand all the time!

The two cuties at the park together.

Alexandra seems to finally adjusted to having a brother. These past couple of days she wants to give him lots of kisses, hold him, put his pacifier back in, shake his bottle, rock him etc, etc. Its so cute. She is going to be a good big sister.

Here is my little man. He is getting bigger everyday.

Alex is 2! Johnny is 2 weeks!

Alexandra turned 2 this week! We celebrated her birthday last weekend with an Elmo themed party when my Mom was still here. Here is a picture of her in one of her presents, a car.

Alexandra breastfeeding her baby! (I have added a video of her feeding her baby as well.) She can never quite get the baby up to her boob so most of the time her baby is eating her belly button.

Johnny is doing great. He is two weeks old now. I believe I am going to have another thumbsucker whenever I stop swaddling him. He has already found his thumb twice. Here is one of the times. He actually put himself to sleep sucking on it once.

The first week home

Hello! Johnny is now 1 week old and he has been a really good baby so far in the first week of his life. When he decided to make his entrance he made it really fast. I was in labor for only 5 hours. A contraction woke me up at 3:15am and at 8:15am Johnny was born. It was great that it was so short and quick but because it was I was not able to get an epidural. Not something I recommend! By the time I got to the hospital I was fully dilated and there was no time for pain relief. It was basically time to deliver. Any pain I endured was well worth it once I saw him though.

My Mom told my Grandma I had to do it without an epidural and in her polite ways she informed my Mom that I had nothing to complain about. She and every other catholic mother in her day did it 6 or more times without one! Gotta love my Grandma.

Alexandra is adjusting well. It has helped that my Mom is here to play and distract her when I need it. She still can't say my Mom's name. She just points at my Mom and says "play" when she wants her to play. Yesterday she actually went and tapped my Mom on the butt and told her "play". She is going to wonder where her playmate went next week when my Mom goes home.

Alexandra has already tried to breastfeed her baby herself, had me swaddle and rock her and gotten into Johnny's bassinet. There is definitely moments of jealously but everyday it seems to be less and less.

I'll write more next week!
