Growing Up

Johnny is finally able to go in his exersaucer now. He loves it.

I for sure thought Johnny was going to be a thumbsucker like Alexandra. He doesn't suck his thumb, instead he sucks his middle and ring fingers to comfort himself and to go to sleep. It is too cute!

This day I told Alexandra that it was time to get dressed. She said okay and disappeared to her room. She came back with her sweatshirt, hat, mittens and socks and told me that it was cold out and she needed to wear this stuff. (It actually was 90 degrees out that day.) Luckily later that day when we actually had to go outside to go somewhere I was able to get the stuff off her without much of a fight.

Both kids are doing good. I started feeding Johnny cereal a couple of weeks ago. He still has no interest in it. When I bring it out he just stares at me and shuts his mouth. I have to play games to get him to open his mouth and then shove the spoon in there. Half the time he is still pushing it out with his tongue. Some bites I think he is actually swallowing it and I get excited and keep feeding him more. A few minutes later cereal starts coming out the corners of his mouth. He has been hiding it in his cheeks!!

Alexandra is still her busy self, learning to talk more and more everyday. Sometimes when she talks I look at her and think, where has the time gone, only two years ago you were a baby and now you are a little person trying to have a conversation with me!

I have a added a short video of Johnny up on all fours. He still is doing it all the time!

Hair, Elmo and Crawling!

Not only do I dress myself I also do my own hair now when my Mommy lets me!

My new Elmo pjs my Mommy got me.  I love Elmo!

I have a sister and I love it!
People told me that the second baby tends to do things (such as sitting up, crawling, walking etc.) early because they have an older sibling they are constantly watching and wanting to do the same things as.  They weren't lying.  This past week Johnny has started to get himself up on all fours!  Alexandra started scooting at 6 months and was fully crawling at 7 months.  I could be wrong but I would imagine if he is getting himself up on all fours already at just 4 months he should be crawling by 6 months.   He is getting too big too fast!

4 months old

Johnny was 4 months old this past weekend!  We went to his four month doctor's appointment yesterday and he is a very big boy.  He is now 27 inches long (still in the 100th percentile) and 16 lbs (75th percentile).  This weekend I also noticed that his bottom two teeth broke through the gums. He has been drooling a lot but I thought it would still be a bit before any teeth made it through. I was wrong.  Alexandra started getting teeth early like this so I guess he is going to be the same.  These teeth didn't seem to bother him at all. Hopefully the rest will be this easy! We'll see if I'm that lucky.

This is one of Alexandra's outfits that she picked out to wear. You can't tell in the picture but she picked a shirt to wear with these blue leggings that is way too big for her. It is meant for her to wear when she is four.   She decided that her outfit wasn't quite finished and put a swimsuit coverup over it!  I just smiled and told her she looked pretty!

Colors & Tummy Time

Alexandra has started the phase where she has to be the one that picks out her outfits. She is also learning her colors so most of the days she thinks she has to wear the same color from head to toe because they "match". This day her shoes were even this turquoise color. I'm not a fashion queen by any means but I don't think the same color all over is whats trendy!!

Johnny's favorite way to be is on his belly right now. I have also uploaded a video of him on his belly, smiling, talking and trying to grab at some toys. He has started trying to reach for toys. He has to concentrate really hard and it is more luck than skill right now but its cute. Everything is just as exciting and cute with the second kid as it was with the first.

Unfortunately our camera just broke so it will probably be a bit before I post some new pictures but I will make sure to keep uploading the videos until then.

Rolling Over

My Sous Chef!

My Johnnycakes!

Hi! I have added two new videos. Johnny has mastered rolling from his belly to his back. It takes him a few grunts but he can do it. So of course I had to get it on video one day. Well, now if Johnny gets videotaped or photographed I must do the same to Alex. She makes sure I don't forget her. This day she had to do exactly what Johnny was doing on video. So although she mastered rolling over two years ago she had to show me how good she can still do it now! She cannot be outdone by her brother!

Birthdays, Baptism, Anniversary, and lots of Marco Fam time

Hi! Alexandra, Johnny and I just got back yesterday from spending two weeks in Wisconsin with all of my family. We had a great time up there which included celebrating Donovan's baptism, my 32nd birthday and Jaelynn's 2nd birthday. I was sad to leave but managed not to cry for once since I know I will see a portion of my family in a couple of months for Johnny's baptism.

I have added an album of my favorite photos from the month of April. There are also three new videos. The video of Johnny is just some footage of him doing tummy time. There are two videos of Alex and JJ together. In one they are playing Mommy and Baby. If you can understand JJ when she is playing Mommy she is saying oh so politely "LAY DOWN". In the other video I had them both say all the names in our family to try to showcase their personalities. As you will hear Alex is very soft spoken while JJ is very loud. She is a riot.

Both kids are doing good. Johnny is now 3 months old and is continuing to grow like crazy. I have always wondered where Alex and now Johnny have gotten their height. Nick finally tells me last night that the men on his Dad's side of the family are very tall, over 6 feet. We have discussed the height of our kids over and over and he never mentioned this before, men!:):) Johnny is still a very, very smiley baby and has started to coo all the time. Alexandra is still a very busy two year old, talking more and more everyday.

It was our 3 year anniversary this past Wednesday. I obviously was in Wisconsin and spent it with Michelle with dinner and a movie. Nick, who has been traveling constantly lately, was in Philadelphia and had dinner with some co-workers. Now that we are both home we are going to celebrate next weekend. I can hardly believe we have been married three years. We wasted no time growing our family!!
